The Laura Fergusson Trust Canterbury is an independent, charitable organisation providing services 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.  Their mission is to facilitate autonomy, inclusion and independence for people with impairments and their families/whanau, particularly those who have suffered from a brain injury.  Having sustained substantial growth over the past few years they now have over 170 staff involved in providing rehabilitation and support services to their clients.  They employ Medical Specialists, Registered Nurses, Qualified Support and Coaching Staff, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Clinical and Neuropsychologists, Dietitians and Social Workers.  As a result of the organisation’s growth and context, and to support continued development, an impactful HR Manger role is being established.

Reporting to the CEO and with an HR/Payroll Administer as a direct report, the HR Manager will be a key member of the senior management team, with wide ranging responsibilities.  Working closely with leaders and staff, this is both an operational and strategic role, focussed on developing and implementing HR strategies to realise the organisation’s vision and strategy.

This role requires a passionate and experienced HR professional with at least 2 years’ experience in a Senior HR generalist role.  A consultative leadership style with the ability to impact and influence at all levels of the organisation is essential, as is a commitment to partnering within the business to achieve the best possible strategic and operational HR outcomes.  You will be a critical thinker, pragmatic and highly organised.  You will also be able to prioritise the HR focus areas in line with the organisation’s needs and a drive to deliver exceptional HR solutions.
