Executive recruitment in health services organisation

Multiple roles

Following the successful placement of the CEO for a newly formed entity, Sheffield assisted with the recruitment of three general managers. These were new roles, with a high level of internal interest, union involvement and political sensitivity around the changes.

Sheffield put together a team of three senior consultants, led by a project manager to deliver this project in a very tight timeframe. We had less than 24 hours to get the initial proposal, project plan and advertisements together.

We worked with the new CEO, as well as representatives from the shareholders organisations and other stakeholders. We worked closely with both internal and external candidates at all stages through the process. Our success in this assignment was based on open and frequent communication, an understanding of the sensitivities and potential pitfalls of the process, structured project management and a warm, open and accessible approach. All three roles were filled within the required timeframes.

Internal recruitment situations are often the most sensitive, especially when they are the result of a restructure and people’s jobs are at stake. The consultants at Sheffield all have significant experience guiding organisations in these matters. We understand the importance of working closely with internal candidates and managers, and we know the ‘fish-hooks’ that can exist. We provide unbiased, expert advice support to both managers and candidates. A structured, robust and independent process protects the organisation both legally and in terms of reputation and goodwill from staff.
