Every year Sheffield undertakes a survey of remuneration levels among legal practices. This report provides the industry with a unique tool against which to benchmark remuneration costs and policies across New Zealand law firms.

Specifically tailored to the mid and small sized New Zealand law practices, the survey covers the remuneration of thousands of job holders from firms all over New Zealand. Positions from Summer Clerk to all levels of Solicitor and Senior Associate are covered as well as corporate support roles such as Legal Executives, Legal Secretaries, Librarians and Practice Managers.

CORPORATE LEGAL COUNSEL SURVEY

The Sheffield Corporate Legal Counsel Survey is a comprehensive analysis of remuneration levels, structures and practices for corporate in-house legal staff roles. This report provides Human Resources and Remuneration Managers detailed remuneration data on typical in-house legal roles including GM Legal/General Counsel, Senior Legal Counsel and In-House Counsel.

This survey is produced on a two-yearly cycle and was last published in October 2005.

PATENT ATTORNEY SURVEY

The Sheffield Patent Attorney Survey was produced at the request of several of New Zealand’s leading Intellectual Property law firms. This survey was designed as a supplement to the Sheffield Law Report which is an annual survey of New Zealand law firms, surveying remuneration for solicitors and other legal support staff. This survey covers those individuals who are Registered Patent Attorneys or are currently studying towards Patent Attorney registration. This survey is produced on a two-yearly cycle.
