DDI Leads in Leadership Training

Leading researchers in HR have independently recognised DDI as an outstanding provider of leadership development tools. Sheffield is the exlusive licensee for DDI in New Zealand.

The latest recognition comes from the training industry research and information portal, TrainingIndustry.com, which has named DDI in its list of the 2010 Top 20 Leadership Training Companies.

Selection was based on the following criteria:

  • Thought leadership and influence on leadership training industry
  • Industry recognition and innovation
  • Breadth of programmes and audiences served
  • Delivery methods offered
  • Company size and growth potential
  • Strength of clients
  • Geographic reach
  • Experience in serving the market

In 2009, Aberdeen Group published Succession Management: Addressing the Leadership Development Challenge, a benchmark report of 300 organisations worldwide. This research found that DDI clients achieved greater than average improvements in key performance indicators.

The research compares 29 DDI clients against 250 other companies.

According to Aberdeen's report "there is no doubt that DDI's clients are outperforming their counterparts. The data shows that they are achieving significantly better gains across the key performance indicators, including those that were used to determine best-in-class performance."

A study in 2008 by Bersin & Associates, High Impact Leadership Development: Trends, Best Practices and Industry Solutions, describes DDI as a powerhouse of the leadership development industry.
"DDI understands the changing landscape of leadership development today and the urgent need for companies to grow leaders more quickly.
"Bottom line - If a company is looking for a partner that offers 'the full circle' in terms of content, services and assessments related to leadership development, DDI is the right choice."

Sheffield Top in 2009

Great companies always need great talent. Certainly that was Sheffield’s experience of 2009, when we were confirmed as the top print advertiser among recruitment consultancies in the New Zealand Herald and the Sunday Star Times.
The New Zealand Herald research measured total column centimetres of advertising space placed by the top 12 recruitment consultancies. It showed that Sheffield placed the largest volume of advertising by a significant margin. It had 22.46% share, compared with the No.2 consultancy among the top 12, which had 12.54% share.
A Sunday Star Times analysis also reports that Sheffield has been the top print advertiser amongst recruitment consultancies, by a huge percentage. It calculates Sheffield placed 3197 column centimetres of recruitment advertising from January to December 2009, which was considerably more than the next recruitment consultancy.
Sheffield director Ian Taylor says both sets of research confirm that demand for great talent has not abated over the past year. “During a year of economic uncertainty, there was clearly a need for the degree of rigour that we bring to Search and Selection.”
Mr Taylor adds that newspaper advertising continues to be the strongest medium to reach executive candidates. “Print is the preferred way for candidates to gain a depth of information about the role, and the employer.”
