Sheffield Top in 2009
Great companies always need great talent. Certainly that was Sheffield’s experience of 2009, when we were confirmed as the top print advertiser among recruitment consultancies in the New Zealand Herald and the Sunday Star Times.
The New Zealand Herald research measured total column centimetres of advertising space placed by the top 12 recruitment consultancies. It showed that Sheffield placed the largest volume of advertising by a significant margin. It had 22.46% share, compared with the No.2 consultancy among the top 12, which had 12.54% share.
A Sunday Star Times analysis also reports that Sheffield has been the top print advertiser amongst recruitment consultancies, by a huge percentage. It calculates Sheffield placed 3197 column centimetres of recruitment advertising from January to December 2009, which was considerably more than the next recruitment consultancy.
Sheffield director Ian Taylor says both sets of research confirm that demand for great talent has not abated over the past year. “During a year of economic uncertainty, there was clearly a need for the degree of rigour that we bring to Search and Selection.”
Mr Taylor adds that newspaper advertising continues to be the strongest medium to reach executive candidates. “Print is the preferred way for candidates to gain a depth of information about the role, and the employer.”
