Location: Invercargill or Christchurch

  • Key leadership role
  • Invercargill or Christchurch Location
  • Report Directly to the General Manager

Alliance Group is a global leader in procuring, processing and marketing the world’s best quality red meat products. They’re becoming a food company with world-class processing and livestock capability and their products are enjoyed in more than 65 countries across the globe. As New Zealand’s only 100% farmer owned red meat co-operative, their committed farmer shareholders are at the heart of everything they do. This role will provide you with an unrivalled opportunity to support and deliver on that vision.

Reporting directly to the General Manager Livestock and Shareholder Services and as a member of the livestock management team, this senior role will lead the development and monitoring of the assurance programmes associated with procuring and processing livestock.  This is a high profile role within Alliance tasked with ensuring Alliance and its shareholders meet all regulatory, customer and market access requirements.

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Engage and play a key influencing role ensuring alignment of assurance activities across the wider business, including marketing, processing and sales
  • Embed Alliance Group’s newly rolled out Farm Assurance Programme
  • Develop strong relationships with shareholders to align consumer expectations, regulatory requirements and farming practices
  • Regularly mentor livestock representatives and internal auditors, along with day to day internal and external auditing of Assurance programmes
  • Work closely with the GM Livestock and Shareholder Services to develop and execute strategy and business planning
  • Keep a watching brief on emerging opportunities and overseas markets to drive continuous improvement, including alternative frameworks and technology
  • Ensure that systems, processes, reporting and documentation support the integrity of the assurance programmes.

Successful candidates will be pragmatic, commercially astute and experienced in a regulatory environment, along with a history developing quality assurance programmes associated with agriculture or horticulture.  To ensure credibility with shareholders, you will understand farming and farming systems, and regulatory experience with overseas markets will be advantageous. You will be tech savvy, analytical, experienced in project management and will have demonstrated success building relationships and influencing key stakeholders across a business.  Our preference is for you to be tertiary qualified, however this is not compulsory.

This influential leadership role represents an exciting opportunity to join one of New Zealand’s largest companies on its transformation to a dynamic value added food and ingredients producer that takes the best of New Zealand to world markets.
