As one of three territorial local authorities in Southland, it covers an area of 1,250km with a population of 12,400. The Gore district provides a rural city lifestyle unrivalled by most, with exceptional community and recreational facilities. The Gore District’s location provides easy access to ski fields, the best of New Zealand’s national and forest parks and major urban centres.
