AgResearch is a vibrant organisation with 760 staff currently spread nationally across four campuses and 9 farms.  With a purpose “to enhance the value, productivity and profitability of New Zealand’s pastoral, agri-food and agri-technology sector value chains to contribute to economic growth and beneficial environmental and social outcomes for New Zealand”, AgResearch partners with the pastoral sector to identify and deliver the innovation that is needed to create value for New Zealand.  AgResearch plays a key role in delivering new knowledge and technologies which underpin the pastoral, agri-food and agri-technology value chains.

Reporting to the Chief Executive and working closely with the board, executive team and subsidiaries, this role will provide proactive support in all corporate EA areas such as:

  • General secretarial support (correspondence, diaries, meeting minutes, preparation of complex documents etc)
  • Collation of agendas, briefing & board papers and organising meetings. This includes support for the subsidiaries
  • Attending all executive and board meetings and following up on action points
  • Coordinate the CE Office
  • Travel and accommodation logistics
  • Ad hoc event planning and project support

Applicants will ideally have experience working at executive/board level, as a corporate Executive Assistant and will have a knack for quickly establishing their indispensability and for implementing structure and systems to facilitate efficiency.  Exceptional communication and organisational skills are essential, along with a professional, customer-focused and service-oriented approach. With the proven ability to manage a large and diverse workload together with proficiency in all aspects of MS Office, the successful applicant will be an easy fit to the team, possess impeccable judgement, initiative and have a good sense of humour.  This could also represent a ‘step-up’ opportunity for the right candidate.
