Employing approx. 80 staff, Alpine Energy manages South Canterbury’s electricity distribution network (connecting over 31,000 customers) as well as operating a fibre optic communications network. The company is owned by the South Canterbury community and as such, all profits go back into the community by way of dividends and local sponsorship. The Alpine Energy Group also consists of subsidiary companies, NETcon (an electrical contracting company), and Infratec (delivering renewable technology projects in New Zealand and overseas) in addition to complimentary investments in metering and technology companies (On Metering and SmartCo) and in LPG supplier - Rockgas Timaru.
Reporting to the CEO, the new position of CFO will provide dedicated and motivational leadership to a team of approx. 10 with responsibility for a diverse and stimulating corporate portfolio. More specifically this will include strategic and operational financial management, revenue assurance, treasury, procurement, regulatory and pricing, property management and investments monitoring. The CFO will also work closely with the Board, providing company secretary duties and a range of governance support services. The additional opportunity to develop your own governance career on the Board of one of Alpine’s investment companies is also a very real possibility.
Applicants will ideally be CA and tertiary qualified and be able to demonstrate a proven track record of working in a senior finance role, successfully leading teams with a forward-thinking and long-term strategic approach. Well-developed commercial acumen, an eye for innovation along with the drive to continually enhance business performance is also essential.
