Strategic Pay is a high-profile consulting firm that provides innovative solutions to organisations for their strategic remuneration, performance development and performance improvement needs. Strategic Pay has a New Zealand-wide client following across the private, public and not for profit sectors, from SMEs through to large multinationals, along with local and central government entities. This recent vacancy represents a rare opportunity for a Senior Consultant to join their growing and successful Christchurch based office.
Reporting to the Manager Southern, the Senior Consultant is part of a team that are responsible for working with clients to develop remuneration and performance solutions, facilitating training workshops and advising in areas such as job evaluation, remuneration, links between performance and pay as well as Board fees. This role will require travel for visiting clients and prospective clients to interpret their needs and pro-actively cultivating relationships in order to resolve their issues. Working on a variety of assignments, the Senior Consultant will take a lead role with the implementation of larger projects across various aspects of remuneration and reward strategy, working directly with Boards and CEO’s and engaging with industry groups. Collaborating closely with the team, this role will provide thought leadership and direction along with guidance to less experienced staff.
We seek tertiary qualified candidates who have a broad level of commercial experience across a variety of sectors, with good understanding of different business models and change processes. Experience in a consulting environment is desirable, along with expertise with people and workforce dynamics, a demonstrated analytical approach and the technical skills to understand and interpret data. Candidates who are comfortable with business development, able to work autonomously and who enjoy coaching and developing others are preferred. You will have excellent report writing and presentation skills, be experienced using excel and other MS suite tools and comfortable working with a variety of automated data systems. A professional, calm and measured approach coupled with excellent networking and relationship development skills are critical to success, as are critical thinking skills, personal confidence and a track record of successfully managing multiple assignments.
