To continue to achieve this growth and vision, Palmerston North City Council has had an overhaul of its Infrastructure Unit. A key change is an increased attention to and investment in asset management planning and information intelligence, with a new division being established. We’re now looking for an experienced senior manager to head this critical team.

The Asset and Planning Manager role will report into the Chief Infrastructure Office on the leadership team. It’s a position that you can really make your mark on - you’ll drive the development and implementation of strategic asset management at the organisation level.  You’ll have a long-term strategic view, working to ensure a coordinated approach that is sustained and integrated across Council. To succeed in this role, you’ll be skilled in analysing complex issues, and have a thorough knowledge of asset management as a business process and the Local Government Act

Your team is going to be key to developing the Infrastructure wide programme of works. You’ll have a tangible impact on the city, with your work in developing Asset Management Plans and informing the Long-Term Plan and 30-year infrastructure strategy.  As you can imagine, significant collaboration is required in this role, so you’ll have a history of building and maintaining relationships.
