The Moffat Group based in Australia is part of the leading global business the Ali Group. The Moffat Group are the Southern Hemisphere’s largest developer, manufacturer and marketer of a comprehensive range of commercial cooking, baking and meal distribution products for the hospitality and food service market worldwide. Moffat Limited (based in NZ) is the market leader in New Zealand, and with an impressive state of the art head office and manufacturing facility in Christchurch (Rolleston), Moffat market their products under their speciality brands, which include Blue Seal, Cobra, Turbofan, Waldorf, Convotherm and Merrychef amongst others.
With the impending retirement of the long-serving incumbent, Moffat seek a new Financial Controller to lead the finance function of their New Zealand business. Reporting to the General Manager Finance (Australia), the Financial Controller will provide dedicated and motivational leadership to a team of 5, with responsibilities including; ensuring timely and accurate financial and management reporting, improving cost accounting systems and processes, maintaining financial controls, treasury management (optimising working capital, managing cash flows and foreign exchange), statutory compliance requirements, budgeting and forecasting, AP/AR, tax, pricing and inventory. The Financial Controller will also work closely with managers across the business and assist the MD with any ad hoc financial analysis required in order to facilitate business growth and optimise overall business performance.
Candidates will ideally be CA qualified with up to date knowledge of accounting standards/regulations along with proven experience of leading teams and a demonstratable passion for the provision and analysis of accurate financial data. Exceptional leadership, communication and relationship building skills are therefore essential, together with a well-developed level of commercial acumen and a proactive approach. Proven ability & passion to commercially enhance business performance is also essential, together with the ability to roll your sleeves up & be comfortable working with the detail when required. Applicants will also possess large ERP system experience (e.g. SAP) along with an advanced knowledge of Excel and any prior experience of working within a manufacturing and import/export environment would be highly beneficial.
