National Manager - Multi-modal and Innovation

Transport Services is an end-to-end business group that focuses on our transport system – from policy and planning, through design and delivery, to maintenance and operations. Transport Services is changing, and a new operating model is being introduced to enable them to meet the growing demands on their transport system, better serve their regions and fully develop their multi-modal transport capability. This new operating model has created over 50 exciting new opportunities nationwide to keep Aotearoa moving. One of the roles is the National Manager, Multi-modal and Innovation.

Reporting to the General Manager, Transport Services, the National Manager, Multi-modal and Innovation will lead the planning of multi-modal transport innovation and system integration solutions for Waka Kotahi and local government. The successful candidate will provide technical thought-leadership around transport innovation and urban form, ensuring constructive and collaborative stakeholder relationships are in place to enable Waka Kotahi to deliver upon its strategic objectives and policy commitments.

Candidates for this role will have multi-modal experience, having led in contexts of comparable complexity, with a demonstrated ability to turn strategy into tactical outcomes. Stakeholder engagement is vital: the appointee will be a credible and passionate leader, able to influence and partner with stakeholders from all walks of life. As a member of the Transport Services Group Leadership Team, the National Manager, Multi-modal and Innovation will have a comprehensive understanding of the transport system network policy and processes, preferably within a local or central government context.
