Our purpose at Southern Cross is to advance the health and wellbeing of New Zealanders; brought to life by a progressive and inclusive workplace culture focused on providing the best care. We support the health and wellbeing of over 100,000 New Zealanders annually, employ over 2500 people, and partner with over 1000 clinical specialists.
To deliver on our mission, we need the very best people to deliver the very best care. At this time we are currently seeking expressions of interest for the role of General Manager – Wellington to lead through a period of exciting and substantial change over the coming years.

With expansion plans now underway, the successful appointee will ensure our Wellington Healthcare proposition is positioned to be a leader in its local market, focusing on regional growth and the development of our strategic services and marketing approach, while maintaining the highest quality of hospital and health care. They will maintain a level of organisational oversight and collaboration that support synergies being optimised across Southern Cross facilities.
Candidates for this role will have extensive experience and demonstrated skills in leadership in contexts of comparable complexity, with expertise in delivering organisational growth and commercial high performance. An ability to identify and deliver strategies that reflect commercial bottom lines is important, while ensuring the delivery of high quality standards for treatment and care, and appropriate patient outcomes, are sustained at the highest possible standard. Experience within the healthcare sector is not essential for appointment.
For those seeking a challenging position with an important legacy within New Zealand’s healthcare system, this role represents a compelling next career step.
