Construction Manager - G.J. Gardner Homes

Reference Number: 377666aa

Location: South Auckland

  • Key role in Senior Management Team
  • South Auckland Location
  • Exciting growth opportunity

As the number one home builder in New Zealand, G.J. Gardner Homes has established an enviable reputation based on its high quality standards and commitment to service excellence. The organisation’s leading Franklin/Papakura franchise has recently undergone a management restructure as part of its positioning for an exciting phase of planned growth.

Currently they seek to appoint a Construction Manager to take up a key senior role involving the oversight of all construction and Wholesale projects, to ensure that timelines and quality standards are consistently met. Reporting to the General Manager of Operations, the appointee will deal directly with Council, Engineers and Surveyors and will also have “hands on” accountability for problem solving on site in conjunction with overseeing a team of ten reports involved in drafting, lodging of building consents, codes of compliance and related follow through.

The Construction Manager will also be responsible for making sure that all relevant documentation has been lodged and for dealing with subcontractors to ensure that projects are running to budget. While a systematic and highly organised approach will be important, the appointee will also be expected to contribute to strategic planning and direction for the franchise and for dealing effectively with support staff and industry peers at all levels. Ideally, candidates for this role should be qualified to Licenced Building Practitioner level whilst possessing a comprehensive background in project and construction management within the home build market. A progressive and fresh approach is also sought together with the personal drive and ambition to progress and take advantage of the organisation’s exciting growth potential. Personal values of integrity, honesty and transparency along with a “team player” approach will be important to ensure a cultural “fit” for this high quality organisation. An attractive negotiable remuneration package is on offer.
