Executive Officer for Chief Executive & Board - National Hauora Coalition

Reference Number: 637636aa

Location: Avondale, Auckland

  • Develop large networks
  • Significant scope for support of Chief Executive and Board
  • Organisation making impact on Māori health outcomes

The National Hauora Coalition (NHC) is a charitable social enterprise focussed on improving outcomes for whanau by bringing innovation and greater effectiveness to health and social programmes across Auckland, Waikato, Tairāwhiti, and Whanganui. The Executive Officer for Chief Executive & Board role reports directly to the Chief Executive and is responsible for the smooth running of both the Chief Executive’s office as well as administrating the Board. The applicant we are seeking needs to be comfortable in the demands of Chief Executive level requirements as well as Board governance, be willing and accurate in administration, and capable to coordinate inputs into projects as required.

The NHC is a Māori-led and culturally driven organisation that supports solutions for all whanau, especially those communities that are not well served by health and social services. This role will suit a person who is accurate and organised, assertive but warm with effective interpersonal relationships, the ability to build trust and respect, reflect the values of the organisation and have well-developed administration skills.

To be successful in this role the applicant would need to reflect the right style that is both efficient as well as people-oriented. The role will interact daily with the Chief Executive, senior leadership team members, frequently with Board members, and many other external organisations and internal staff. The successful applicant will need to be as willing and happy in organising a Chief Executive’s Outlook inbox and calendar as they are in administering a Board and hosting dignitaries. In a Maori organisation this role will need to have the knowledge or experience with tikanga to the extent of properly organising hui, sometimes on marae settings and ensuring guests are appropriately greeted and treated.
