Strategic Pay is a high profile consulting firm that provides innovative solutions to organisations for their strategic remuneration, performance development and performance improvement needs. Strategic Pay has a New Zealand-wide client following across the private, public and not for profit sectors, from SMEs through to large multinationals, along with local and central government entities. Due to continued growth, Strategic Pay now has a requirement for a new Consultant to join their busy and successful Christchurch based office. 

Reporting to the Manager Southern, this new role has been created due to an exciting focus on growth in the southern region. The Consultant is part of a team that are responsible for working with clients to develop remuneration and performance solutions, advising in areas such as job evaluation, market pricing, remuneration policy, links between performance and pay. This role will require travel for business development, visiting clients to interpret their needs and pro-actively cultivating relationships in order to develop a client base. The Consultant is expected to win and deliver projects on a regular basis as well as collaborating with Senior Consultants on the implementation of larger projects across various aspects of remuneration and reward strategy.

We seek tertiary qualified candidates who have a broad level of commercial experience across a variety of sectors, with good understanding of how business works and different business models. Experience with human resources is not a pre requisite; however an affinity for numbers, a demonstrated analytical approach and the technical skills to understand and interpret data certainly are. Candidates who are comfortable with business development, able to work autonomously, with strong focus on detail and a track record in delivery of quality results are preferred. You will have excellent report writing and presentation skills, be experienced using excel and other MS suite tools and comfortable working with a variety of automated data systems. A professional, calm and measured approach coupled with excellent networking and relationship development skills are critical to success, as is initiative, personal confidence and the ability to successfully manage multiple assignments.
