About the Role

Reporting to the Executive Director and Board, the Centre Manager will be instrumental in realising the vision for BrainTree - to improve the lives of people living with a neurological condition.  With the Braintree Wellness Centre on schedule for completion in April 2022, key responsibilities will include:

  • Completion of the building fit-out
  • Leadership of the team and day-to-day running of the centre.
  • Stakeholder Engagement – including relationships with tenants, customers, donors, neurological stakeholders and the community. 
  • Property Management – maintenance, leasing, compliance, H&S and facilities management
  • Financial, Strategic and Operational Management of the centre.


Skills & Experience

Candidates of interest will be experienced general managers known for their ability to relate to people at all levels and will be looking for an altruistic opportunity where they can ‘give back’ to the community.   You will be:

  • excited about bringing a vision to reality and have the drive to achieve this
  • genuinely passionate about helping people and can relate to the NFP/health sector
  • an organised person with strong commercial acumen and experience in property, facilities and operational management.
  • a likeable person with proven experience working successfully with stakeholders, having strong relationship management and engagement skills
  • known for your high level of emotional intelligence, relating well with the end-users of this facility.

About the Company

The Canterbury Brain Collective - a partnership between Multiple Sclerosis & Parkinson’s Canterbury, and Dementia Canterbury - was established in 2017 as a registered charitable company, with the goal of developing a wellness centre for local people living with neurological conditions.  This wellness centre is called BrainTree.

The new BrainTree facility in Papanui will become the base for our two founding partner organisations, as well as other like-minded non-profit organisations in Ōtautahi-Christchurch.  It will provide a space for people and their whānau to connect with others who understand the condition, as well as encourage engagement with the support services, information and activities available in our community.
