New Chief Executive Officer for Chatham Islands Council

Sheffield was thrilled to work with Chatham Islands Council for the recent appointment of their new Chief Executive Officer, Paul Eagle.

This was an exciting opportunity for Louise Green to work with the Council recruiting for this key leadership position. In order to gain background insight into the role, Louise was able to spend some time on the island to experience island life first hand, enjoy the absolute beauty the Chathams have to offer and even engage in some fishing with the locals.

Paul is a high-profile appointment and will be well known to the Chathams, having previously been the MP and champion for the Chatham Islands, Wharekauri – Rēkohu communities. As a leader with almost 25 years of experience in the public service including management and governance roles in both local and central government, he brings a rare combination of qualifications, experience and personal qualities to make him a great fit for this unique position. Paul was also a Wellington City Councillor and Deputy Mayor of Wellington, highlighting further the depth of his local government experience and understanding of the sector.

We are excited for Paul as he retires as an MP and steps into this new role, and wish him all the very best.
