Influential Planning management role for the future of the Bay of Plenty
Compelling career development is offered by this opportunity at the Tauranga-based Bay of Plenty Regional Council. As part of a progressive council which invests in its staff, this role will wrestle with policy related to water management, coastal development and a range of other impacts relevant to the Bay of Plenty. A new management position, the Policy and Planning Manager will operate in a culturally complex landscape, overseeing several teams with 30 staff.
This is a key leadership position in the Strategy and Science Group, and will suit an experienced leader with a strong background in policy or strategic planning. Highly developed skills in people leadership will be important, along with excellent communication skills that model the values of joined-up, cross-organisational teamwork. Preferred candidates will also show an ability to communicate clearly to different audiences, and work with partners, stakeholders, community and elected members for win-win solutions.
