The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiology, RANZCR, has the role of driving optimum health outcomes by leading, training and sustaining its professionals in radiation oncology and clinical radiology. With over 4000 members and almost 700 in New Zealand, RANZCR works with a wide range of medical professionals, both within Australasia and internationally.
In this context, and reporting to the New Zealand Manager, the Policy Officer will support policy development, provide advice and policy-related research, and mediate stakeholder liaison on key issues and programmes in New Zealand. In particular, this role will focus on RANZCR’s input to the Health and Disability Review (currently underway and scheduled to conclude in August 2020).
Preferred candidates for the role will bring experience working in areas of policy development: though a health sector background is not essential, an ability to quickly come up to speed with the complexities of health policy will be important.
Given the broad, dispersed range of stakeholders for this role, a readiness to engage positively and proactively with RANZCR’s members, staff and other parties in the sector will also ensure success in this position.
For those seeking an exciting role in a dynamic, evolving area of policy development, this role represents a compelling next career step.
