Iona College is a state-integrated boarding and day school for girls from Year 7-13. With a roll of 330, it is one of the top achieving schools nationally and has a vision for education which builds on tradition to equip students with the confidence and skills needed for a changing future.

About The Role:
Reporting to the Principal, the Director of Boarding will provide leadership and oversight of the boarding house to ensure a safe, nurturing and structured living environment that supports students' emotional, physical and academic well-being.
The role is supported by a part-time Boarding Assistant and will work closely with teaching and support staff across the College.
Key to the role will be:
- Revitalising the boarding environment, with best practice boarding initiatives.
- Providing effective leadership to the boarding staff that promotes exemplary student pastoral care and well-being.
- Building strong relationships with students, parents, staff and the community.
- Ensuring compliance and expertise around child protection policies and legislation.
- Promoting the College’s values and upholding its Special Character.

This role requires a natural leader who role-models’ expectations and fosters a positive team and student culture. Candidates will be passionate about ensuring a quality boarding experience for students that reflects Iona College’s Vision of ‘empowering girls for life’.
Successful candidates will have:
- A track record of success in delivering effective pastoral care to girls in Years 7-13, with a clear understanding of the physical and mental well-being of boarding students.
- A visible and approachable leadership style, with a strong and consistent presence in the boarding house.
- Expert knowledge of child protection legislation, with a strong commitment to safeguarding and student safety.
- Strong operational and administrative skills and be technologically proficient.
- Calm, clear and compassionate communication skills across students, families and staff.
