Marlborough Electric Power Trust (MEPT), which owns Marlborough Lines Limited (MLL) on behalf of its beneficiaries, is seeking to appoint two skilled directors to the MLL Board due to rotations and a focus on succession planning.
It is desirable that at least one appointment be local to the region.
MLL owns and operates the electricity distribution network in the Marlborough region providing power to over 26,000 consumers across a large and diverse landscape. The company’s vision of “Energising Marlborough’s Future” is supported by its mission to deliver sustainable regional growth and equity through people and community, technology and innovation, and environmental leadership for the benefit of customers, shareholders and community.
Ideal candidates will bring commercial experience from large-scale enterprises, along with a sound understanding of investment portfolio oversight.
Performance of MLL’s investment portfolio is a key focus for the Board and therefore a strong track record of improving business performance at director level is essential.
They will possess a strategic, commercially focused and innovative mindset, contributing diversity of thought to ensure successful and sustainable long-term business performance.
It’s an exciting time for the electricity sector, with disruptive technologies, an ever-evolving regulatory environment and changing consumer behaviour.
The Board usually convenes monthly with additional meetings when required. This is a remunerated appointment.
