DLF acquired PGG Wrightson Seeds in 2019. PGG Wrightson Seeds are a seed and grain business supplying proprietary grass, forage and cereal seeds to farmers; seed and related agronomy products to the turf sector; and edible grains for human and animal nutrition. They operate across New Zealand and Australia and export seed to more than 40 countries around the world.

About The Role: 

Based in Lincoln, this role is an active participant on the Oceania Executive Leadership Team for PGG Wrightson Seeds while also reporting through to the Group CFO, DLF, in Denmark. The CFO Oceania is one of four CFOs representing the four Strategic Business Units that make up DLF.

Providing strong leadership to the local Oceania finance team and ensuring timely and accurate management information and day to day compliance, the role also works closely with the Group CFO to consolidate and streamline finance operations and reporting, to meet DLF Group Finance standards.

The CFO will be expected to travel to Australia quarterly and to attend at least two international sessions annually in February and September. Building internal relationships across the global business will be a key focus.

Skills & Experience: 

As the ideal candidate you will understand the ‘business’ in everything you do, providing valuable insights using sound data and analytics to support informed decision making. You will be an experienced executive leader, with well-developed commercial acumen, able to identify opportunities for scalability through improvements and efficiencies as well new business opportunities.

An ambassador for DLF strategic goals, you will embrace change, supporting and bedding in ERP integration and other consolidation tools and new ways of reporting.

An agile and critical thinker, you will confidently challenge the status quo, while your effective relationship skills will ensure you navigate any challenging situations with diplomacy and tact.

In addition, you will:

  • Be a member of CAANZ – or other relevant professional association.
  • Have a tertiary degree in accounting, with further post graduate study in management or business desired.
  • Ideally be familiar with working in global, culturally diverse environments.
  • Have a minimum 10 years’ financial management leadership in a commercial environment, with multiple streams.
  • Have proven experience leading high performing finance and/or corporate service teams.
  • Be experienced in building collaborative and consultative partnerships with executive leadership.
  • Have broad exposure to finance and accounting disciplines, including general accounting, audit, reporting, planning and analysis, budgeting, internal controls, information systems, treasury and taxation.

Direct experience in a manufacturing environment including inventory management, and the primary sector may be advantageous.
