The Otago Regional Council (ORC) employs more than 170 people and exists to promote the sustainable development and enhancement of Otago's natural resources, preserving them for future generations.
Reporting to the Director Engineering, Hazards and Science you’ll lead a team of dedicated environmental and resource scientists, providing advice and support internally and externally, as well as contributing to a range of cross organisational projects. ORC has a strong emphasis on the development of internal capability, and this key role will be focused on leading the growth and development of the science team.
Essential to success in this role:
Candidates of interest will be known for their leadership success, possibly from local or central government or from other community based service providers. Attributes sought include excellent relationship management skills, a collaborative leadership style, well developed strategic acumen, a focus on results and a history of leading change successfully.
