THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Network Manager – Strategy and Development and supported by 7 direct reports, this position will be responsible for planning and delivery of the company’s capital investment plans, as well as supporting our customer team to respond to customer enquiries, easements and new load applications. The role will also be responsible for implementing a Condition Based Risk Management (CBRM) system for managing and assessing the asset life cycle of our network assets.

As Network Tasman is a small team, the position offers scope to be involved in a wide range of engineering activities. The position will also be involved in assisting the Network Manager – Strategy and Development to prepare asset management plans and to identify new technologies that add value to our electricity network.

THE COMPANY:

Network Tasman Limited owns and operates the electricity distribution network in the wider Nelson and Tasman areas, excluding Nelson Electricity’s supply area in Nelson city.  Based in Richmond - Nelson, the company manages a network that services 41,000 consumer connections in an area of 10,800 km2 in the north-western corner of the South Island.

Network Tasman Limited is wholly owned by the Network Tasman Trust, on behalf of consumers.  The Company’s mission is to operate low cost, open access networks that deliver outstanding reliability and efficiency while maintaining shareholder value. 

Network Tasman has complementary investments in fibre, electricity metering, property and Nelson Electricity Limited. 

THE CANDIDATE:

We seek high energy, skilled candidates with a Bachelor of Engineering (electrical or equivalent) qualification.  To be successful you will need:

  • A minimum of ten years’ industry experience.
  • Experience in and technical understanding of urban and rural electricity distribution networks.
  • Project management experience.
  • Commercial contracts management experience.
  • Experience leading teams at a senior level.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills.
