We’re on the lookout for a collaborative and proven leader with strong commercial acumen to join the executive team in this newly established role of GM finance and corporate.
We’re looking for a strong people leader and communicator, positive, proactive, flexible and, most importantly, a team player who embraces challenge and change.
A new role for the organisation, as the GM finance and corporate you’ll be strategic thinking and future-focused. You’ll look beyond the numbers to assess their impact and what it means for the direction of the organisation, and provide a voice at the executive table to ensure financial implications of decisions are considered and assets and reserves are utilised efficiently.
As well as having a Chartered Accountant qualification, you’ll have experience leading procurement, contract management, risk and legal across an organisation, enacting and driving change, ideally coupled with experience developing a project management office. A strong customer focus and a high degree of personal authenticity, integrity and EQ are also sought. Prior experience in local or central government will be essential to success.
The role is based in Invercargill and reports directly to the chief executive. This is your opportunity to be part of the next stage in rising to meet the challenges being faced, shaping a new and exciting team, and playing a key role in a council which will be a part of a thriving Southland.
