THE JOB:
Reporting to the CEO, the CFO/Commercial Manager is a key member of the senior management team, responsible for the strategic direction and smooth operational performance of Ballantynes’ Finance and Business Systems functions. Providing dedicated and motivational leadership to a team of 10 (via 2 direct reports) the CFO will view technology as an enabler and continually work to enhance the operational efficiency, commercial robustness and financial performance of the business. The CFO also fulfils the role of Company Secretary and has additional involvement in the commercial management of a wide variety of contractual relationships (suppliers, in-store concession arrangements etc and the building redevelopment project itself). The CFO will also work closely with the Board and assist the CEO with any ad hoc financial analysis/projects required in order to facilitate business growth and optimise overall business performance.
THE CANDIDATE:
Applicants will be tertiary and CA qualified with a proven track record of working successfully at a senior finance level – ideally gained in a fast paced and diverse environment (retail desirable but not essential). Candidates will be adept at developing high performing teams and will have a natural affinity for delivering superior levels of customer service. Exceptional communication and relationship building skills are essential together with a well-developed level of commercial acumen and a proactive and passionate approach.
