THE ROLE:

Reporting to and working closely with the company’s 3 business owners/directors, the Financial Controller will provide dedicated and motivational leadership to the centralised Finance & Administration team of 5 - based in Ashburton. Responsibilities for the organisation’s finance function include timely financial and management reporting, improving accounting/business information systems and processes, maintaining financial controls, optimising working capital, managing cash flows, statutory compliance requirements, AP/AR, payroll and tax. The Financial Controller will also work closely with the Directors with any ad hoc financial analysis required in order to facilitate business growth, enhance decision making capability and optimise overall business performance.

THE CANDIDATE:

Applicants will preferably be CA qualified with up to date knowledge of accounting standards/regulations along with experience of leading teams and delivering continuous improvement initiatives. Exceptional communication and relationship building skills are essential together with well-developed commercial acumen and a proactive approach. Proven ability & passion to commercially enhance business performance is also essential, together with the ability to roll your sleeves up & be comfortable working with the detail when required.
