Change Manager - Palmerston North City Council

Reference Number: 366720aa

Location: Palmerston North

Palmerston North is a vibrant, progressive and ambitious city. The city is experiencing growth in all sectors, and competes with other regional centres amidst technological and demographic change for capital, talent and visitors.

In this context Palmerston North City Council (PNCC) provides services to 90,000 residents, employing 600 staff across a broad range of functions. PNCC is leading a bold new vision for Palmerston North: small city benefits, big city ambition that will help the metro achieve its potential, capitalise on its strengths, and thrive in the future. To support its transformation, PNCC is currently seeking expressions of interest for the following unique career and lifestyle opportunity.

Reporting to the Head of the Transformation Office, the Change Manager will be responsible for designing a programme of work to fundamentally lift the change maturity of the organisation. Their immediate focus will be to establish PNCC’s change practice, delivering frameworks, methodology, policy, tools and processes to grow organisational capability, and ensure the lasting success of PNCC’s transformation. This role will work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver new technologies that support change in an agile, collaborative manner.

This role requires a strong understanding of project and change delivery frameworks, process management and systems development life cycle. This knowledge will be applied in this Manager’s partnerships with Transformation Project Leads, as they build knowledge of this discipline across the organisation. An ability to partner with people and culture, marketing, communications and the wider PNCC leadership will be important in ensuring PNCC’s change agent network grows in capability and influence.
