The opportunity | Te tūranga
As Chief Finance and Operating Officer, you’ll be a critical member of the Executive Leadership Team and a trusted adviser to the Chief Executive and Council. You’ll provide strategic leadership across a business-critical portfolio that includes finance, legal, commercial, facilities and property, campus operations and logistics.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, you’ll ensure Open Polytechnic is sector leading in financial stewardship, commercial acumen and operational excellence, ensuring the best possible outcomes for ākonga, kaimahi and stakeholders.
What you’ll do | He aha ka mahia e koe
- Provide strategic and organisational leadership to support and enable delivery of our strategy.
- Lead the enterprise financial strategy in planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting to enable long-term sustainability and growth.
- Provide high-quality, commercially astute advice to the Chief Executive, Council and relevant committees on financial, legal, commercial and operational matters.
- Lead and develop multi-disciplinary teams and build capability across risk, assurance and privacy.
- Lead the property strategy including oversight of facilities, campus operations, logistics and workplace services so they are safe, accessible and fit for purpose.
What you’ll bring | Ōu pūkenga
- Executive finance leadership experience in a large and complex organisation.
- A track record of providing trusted strategic financial advice to a Chief Executive, Board, Council and audit and risk committee.
- A genuine commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, equity, inclusion and culturally responsive leadership.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or commerce, and membership of a recognised professional accounting body (such as CA ANZ or CPA Australia).
