About The Role:
Reporting to the Group CEO, the General Manager ANZL holds overall strategic, operational and financial accountability for the business driving sustained growth and shareholder value and consistently delivering safe, profitable, high-quality sustainable outcomes for clients.
Based in Auckland, the role is responsible for leading and inspiring a team of 300 with a strong and well-established culture.

As the successful candidate you will play a key role in shaping strategy, strengthening commercial discipline and product efficiency, lifting project delivery capability, and championing strong operational practices to redefine ANZL’s competitive differentiation.
You will have a future-focused mindset able to identify and secure new opportunities driving the next phase of growth including new products, services and partnerships beyond ANZL’s traditional base.
A known relationship builder, you will already have established contacts throughout the sector, and will quickly earn the trust of a talented team, bringing fresh energy and pace without disrupting a strong culture.
Ongoing business development is key, and you will have the skills to protect and grow a strong pipeline across commercial, industrial, health, education, infrastructure, government and data centre sectors.
Operational excellence will be at the heart of your leadership, and you will actively use technology to lift commercial and project delivery.
In addition, you will have:
- 10+ years' senior leadership experience running geographically dispersed operations within construction or building services.
- A track record delivering complex, high-value construction projects across HVAC, mechanical, building services, or closely allied sectors.
- Proven commercial rigour - significant revenue and P&L responsibility, with strong tendering, negotiation and margin discipline.
- High EQ and genuine people leadership, able to lead a team through change with confidence and care.
- An entrepreneurial mindset within a corporate governance framework.
