Surf Life Saving Northern Region recognizes the pivotal role it plays in being a leading provider of lifesaving delivery and sport and recreation in New Zealand. The role its member clubs play in providing safe, enjoyable and well governed environments for those participating in surf lifesaving activities is vital. As part of this commitment to high performance the organisation is now seeking a Head of Member Services to support the development of thriving clubs and delivery of these Sport and Recreation outcomes.
Based in the Auckland office located in Mechanics Bay, and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this role is responsible for building high trust relationships with the regions 17 surf clubs and associated member and sponsorship communities, connecting and sharing knowledge across the movement. It plays a key role in leading SLSNR’s member and club support services, overseeing the development and delivery of Club Sustainability, Member Welfare, Club Culture and Junior Surf.

Surf Life Saving Northern Region (SLSNR) is the primary organization for delivering beach and coastal drowning prevention objectives to millions of people in the upper North Island of New Zealand. This is the largest region in New Zealand with 17 Surf Clubs based in the area and a membership of over 6,0oo people. Providing a vital community service it delivers lifesaving activity, club development, water safety education, sport and leadership development programmes.
Ideally, you will be an experienced Partnership, Membership Manager broadly skilled in developing and implementing programmes that support clubs as well-organised, welcoming and vibrant community hubs. Outcomes focused, with very strong communication and relationship building skills, you will possess political acuity and an open and collaborative style. You will have a passion for Surf Life Saving and credibility in the sport or a related activity.
