The Opportunity
Join the Board as Appointed Director to help shape an industry that sustains regional economies while driving innovation and sustainability in New Zealand's premier pipfruit sector.
As a member of the board you will actively contribute to:
- Strategic Leadership: Approve strategic plans, budgets, and guide organisational mission towards NZAPI’s $2 billion vision.
- Governance Excellence: Monitor CEO performance, manage risk and ensure legal and ethical compliance.
- Board Development: Contribute to succession planning, composition planning and policy evaluation.
- Member Accountability: Ensure transparent reporting and alignment between member expectations and performance.
What You Bring
- Senior Leadership Experience: Proven governance track record with strategic business acumen and broad governance experience.
- Commercial Understanding: Understanding of export markets, international trade, regulatory environments, with possible exposure to agriculture or primary industries.
- Governance Expertise: Experience in membership organisations with stakeholder management capabilities. Experience with incorporated societies would be advantageous.
- Strategic Capabilities: Experience with succession planning and complex organisational challenges. The position offers valuable opportunities in governance and industry leadership development, including potential future progression within the Board.
- Leadership Qualities: Excellent judgment, communication and relationship-building skills with collaborative leadership approach.
Key Details
This paid position offers a three-year term (maximum four consecutive terms) requiring bi-monthly Board meetings plus calls, typically the final Tuesday of each month at various locations.
