New Zealand Cricket’s (NZC) constitution requires the retirement by rotation of two directors for this upcoming year. The two directors retiring in this rotation, will be seeking re-election. Sheffield Search is assisting NZC’s Board Appointments Panel to facilitate this process.
NZC has a vision of cricket being New Zealand’s favourite game and is committed to encouraging Diversity and Inclusivity, recognising the importance of breaking down discriminative attitudes and behaviours in sport.
NZC invites applications from suitably qualified individuals for the positions of Independent Director.
Skills and Experience
A Skills and Capabilities Framework approved by the organisation's membership outlines the ideal experience and mix of strengths that are considered most likely to deliver outstanding governance leadership of the sport. In addition to a depth of governance experience, skills to be considered carefully in this rotation round, and which will assist and guide the decision-making process, specifically include:
- Cricket expertise, preferably as a player: Direct playing experience and deep understanding of the game at international competitive levels.
- Deep commercial experience: Proven track record in senior commercial roles with strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
- International and/or Domestic Sports Industry Involvement: Includes involvement with/understanding of the sports industry locally or abroad.
- Marketing, Media and Broadcast: Includes sponsorship involvement and industry experience at the highest capability level.
- Stakeholder relationships, including connections and relationships in commerce and government.
