This is a rare opportunity to define the future of private healthcare in Aotearoa / New Zealand - with national impact and strategic visibility. Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, you will be the Head of Specialist Partnerships - a pivotal position tasked with continuing to drive growth and support our vision of Advancing the provision of quality healthcare in Aotearoa New Zealand.
You won’t just build high-integrity, lasting relationships - you’ll play a central role in shaping our future. Your primary mission is to forge deep, lasting partnerships with specialist clinicians, significantly expanding Southern Cross Healthcare's reach and the services we offer.
You will act as a strategic bridge and be empowered to explore and execute partnerships that fundamentally reimagine the private healthcare landscape in New Zealand.
Beyond external engagement, you will move opportunities from initial spark to full implementation, working hand-in-glove with our Strategy, Commercial, Finance, Legal, and Marketing teams to turn possibilities into realities.

With more than 10 years’ experience in strategic leadership, M&A, or comparable roles within healthcare or adjacent sectors, you’ve built partnerships that deliver lasting impact. You bring commercial insight, a strong grasp of New Zealand’s healthcare landscape, and the ability to identify and execute opportunities across regional and local markets. Your relationship-building skills foster genuine trust with specialists and stakeholders, and your outcomes-focused mindset helps turn ideas into action. You’re energised by the challenge of aligning diverse interests around shared goals — and you have the commercial acumen to make those partnerships work for everyone involved.
