As the Regulatory and Commercial Analyst, you will support the Regulatory and Commercial Manager by providing thorough commercial and regulatory analysis. Key responsibilities include conducting regulatory and commercial analysis, assisting with regulatory submissions, setting prices, budgeting for net revenue, stewardship of regulatory and commercial datasets, managing lines charge billing and reconciliation and performing financial modelling.

Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse regulatory documents to identify business impacts and prepare clear, well‑structured submissions.
- Represent the organisation in industry workshops and consultation forums, effectively communicating Network Tasman’s position.
- Lead the annual price setting process and prepare Network Tasman’s gross margin budget and supporting assumptions.
- Provide modelling, budgeting and commercial insight, to maintain and enhance pricing methodologies and supply‑cost models while delivering high‑quality data and analysis to support commercial, industry, and regulatory requirements .
- Deliver commercial reporting and lines charge billing.
- Provide Commercial data stewardship - Maintain and improve datasets and databases, keep industry datasets current and accessible.
- Assist with the management and development of the Installation Control Point (ICP) database, working with internal staff, retailers and electrical contractors to keep records accurate.
- Support internal stakeholders with data, analysis and modelling for projects and decision-making.
- Provide information and analysis to external stakeholders (retailers, consumers and industry bodies).
- Demonstrate a commitment to health and safety practices and actively promote a safe work environment.
Qualifications and Skills sought:
- Degree or diploma in business/commerce, finance, economics, analytics or a related commercial discipline.
- At least two years’ experience in the New Zealand electricity industry (preferably within a regulated entity).
- Working understanding of the structure and operation of electricity distribution networks.
- Strong capability in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word), particularly working with, manipulating and editing large datasets and models in Excel.
- Experience using databases (e.g. Access and/or SQL) and working with structured datasets (preferred).
- Experience using business intelligence tools such as Power BI and/or Tableau.
- Commercial awareness, understanding financial impacts, risks and trade-offs.
- Strong numerical reasoning; skilled in interpreting data, identifying drivers, and explaining cause-and-effect clearly.
- Skills in problem-solving, taking practical steps to resolve issues and make timely decisions.
- Initiative - proactively identifying solutions and contributing ideas.
