New Non Executive Director for EA Networks

Sheffield South Island thoroughly enjoyed partnering again with Electricity Ashburton Ltd in the appointment of Karl Smith as a new Non-Executive director to the Board.

Karl has been an independent director for 24 years and was formerly Group CEO of Gough Group Limited and had Chief Executive roles with Crane Distribution NZ Limited and Invensys Energy Systems (NZ) Limited. He has also been in top financial executive roles with Citibank in Auckland and Sydney, including Country Financial Controller and Vice President. Karl brings a strong financial, risk and strategic background along with a high commercial acumen and is very experienced in chairing Audit and Risk committees.

With extensive governance experience in city-owned/ trust-owned and community focused infrastructure, Karl cares about regional prosperity and making sound strategic leadership and contributions to the Board and looks forward to adding value to this Board.
