About the Role
We are seeking a proven leader to take on the role of Head of Operations – Defence (NZ), based in Wellington. You will oversee the delivery of Systematic’s Defence projects, ensuring quality outcomes across a varied portfolio that includes implementation, training, technical support and integration. Working alongside business development colleagues, you will also contribute to the growth of our market presence and engagement with new and existing customers.
This is a leadership role with accountability for delivery, people and culture. You will inspire and develop your local team, while also working closely with international colleagues to bring the best of Systematic’s expertise to New Zealand. Building enduring partnerships, supporting capability development and ensuring robust service delivery will be central to your success. Some domestic and international travel will be required.
Skills & Experience
We are looking for a leader who combines strong people skills with sound technical and commercial grounding. You will bring:
- Leadership experience with the ability to coach, motivate and grow teams
- A background managing complex projects, ideally in IT, engineering, defence or related environments
- Understanding of technology-enabled service delivery, with the ability to link customer needs to effective solutions
- Strong relationship-building skills, with confidence to engage senior stakeholders and Defence customers
- The judgement and resilience to operate effectively in dynamic, high-stakes environments
- Eligibility to obtain a national security clearance at top secret level in New Zealand
