About The Role:
This is a significant opportunity to lead a successful business through its next phase of commercial excellence and growth. Reporting to the Westroads Board, the Chief Executive leads the strategic, financial, and operational performance of the organisation.
Key priorities include:
- Strengthening performance and growing the business across central South Island.
- Leading and developing a skilled workforce, fostering a high‑performance, customer centric culture.
- Delivering value to the shareholder through sound financial management.
- Building strong relationships with the shareholder, key partners and community stakeholders.
- Delivering safe, high‑quality civil and construction services.
- Representing Westroads as a trusted regional leader committed to positive community outcomes.
The role can be based in either Hokitika or Greymouth.
Skills & Experience:
As the successful Chief Executive, you will be an experienced and engaging leader with a proven track record in operational management and strategic delivery.
You will have proven experience leading and growing a civil contracting or infrastructure services business, ideally with exposure to council-controlled organisations or similar governance frameworks.
A high‑energy, strategic thinker with excellent planning skills, you will confidently navigate market pressures while driving sustainable growth.
Your solid commercial acumen will be matched with your ability to motivate and lead people, uniting geographically disperse teams and building high performance that is inclusive of safety, respect, and community care.
A strong communicator, you will inspire confidence internally and externally, fostering trust and collaboration across a range of stakeholders.
