Environment Southland is facing its biggest challenge – and we’re up for it!
Improving water quality and supporting action on-the-ground are driving the innovative programmes already underway at the regional council. We’re working collaboratively with tangata whenua and stakeholders to ensure our region thrives for generations to come.
We’re on the lookout for someone to join our executive team to help us bring about the change needed internally and externally to achieve our goals.
The general manager integrated catchment management is a new role, leading a team of 100 customer-facing professionals covering engineering, land management, biodiversity, biosecurity, consents and compliance functions. As an experienced senior leader, you will be politically savvy and will bring a history of people management, strategic thought leadership, experience of leading change and developing high-performing, inspired teams. You will build strong relationships with iwi, community and industry to ensure we place the customer at the heart of our decisions and deliver our outcomes.
This role is based in Invercargill and reports directly to the chief executive. This is your opportunity to be part of the next stage in rising to meet the challenges we’re facing, shaping a new and exciting team, and playing a key role in a council which will be a part of a thriving Southland.
