Marching New Zealand (MNZ) is the National Sports Organisation for Marching in New Zealand.  They aim to deliver quality competitions and administration in conjunction with their regional associations as well as being responsible for participation, providing policy and leadership on health & safety and for fostering a strong, supportive, positive and safe culture.

If you love sport and in particular Marching, this could be the ideal job for you.

MNZ is looking for a part-time Executive Officer to publicly represent Marching New Zealand’s interests on a day-to-day basis, managing the business of MNZ and ensuring that the resources of MNZ are made available to all participants in an equitable way.  Reporting to the Board, the Executive Officer will advise and assist MNZ in the formulation and co-ordination of strategies, policies, priorities and annual programmes, including establishing performance criteria, and reasonable programme and championship/competition outcomes.

The successful applicant will be a great communicator with the ability to relate to a wide range of stakeholders, an outstanding planner and organiser, able to make decisions and manage change, be trustworthy and demonstrate integrity.  Experience reporting to a Board and an understanding of governance is preferred but not essential.

There are a lot of different facets to the role and while we don’t expect the successful applicant to be experienced across all of them, we are seeking a forward-thinking and well-rounded administrator with knowledge of MNZ administration and strategic plan as it affects all levels of participation, who is proactive, driven and resilient.  An interest and aptitude with social media and marketing would be advantageous.

This is a permanent part-time (25 hours per week) position for which the location is flexible.

This is a tremendous opportunity for somebody who is excited to make a difference to Marching in New Zealand.
