As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, this position reports directly to the Chief Executive.  You will contribute towards the executive direction and strategic leadership of this Council, continuing the good work that is being done promoting the culture, values and behaviours to deliver the best results for Invercargill City.

The Group Manager – Customer and Environment is responsible for leading approximately 60 staff across the customer services, environmental, legal, planning and building services and property records activities.  Your focus will be on leading change, developing capability, encouraging collaboration and continuing to build accountability.   

Along with proven senior leadership experience candidates of interest will have a relevant tertiary qualification, come from a local government background with demonstrated experience leading regulatory functions and bring perspective, influence and transformative expertise.

Whilst a sound working knowledge of the RMA reforms, environmental, district planning and building legislation is essential, we seek experienced leaders who can point to a successful track record of inspiring staff, leading change, building culture and developing capability.
