The Opportunity
As the Chief Operating Officer (COO), you will be the operational engine of NZS Group, overseeing the daily operations of its various business units across New Zealand. The role’s mission is to ensure the smooth, efficient and profitable delivery of services nationwide, while driving strategic growth and alignment across multiple brands.
This pivotal leadership role marks a significant turning point in NZSG’s organisational development as it continues to evolve from a well-established scaffolding company to a more diversified organisation with interests in formwork, events and temporary works engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the CEO and Board to implement strategic plans while translating them into operational execution.
- Drive operational excellence and foster a high-performance leadership culture across all business units.
- Prioritise health and safety while ensuring adherence to NZS Group policies and NZ legislation.
- Lead with data-driven decision making to spot trends, forecast needs and manage budgets effectively.
- Identify process improvements and lead key initiatives to streamline operations across the Group.
About You
- 10+ years of operational leadership in construction, infrastructure, logistics or similar fields.
- Proven track record in leading regional operations and driving results across multiple business units.
- Strong commercial acumen with hands-on execution capability and effective resource management.
- Experience in a trade environment with excellent relationship-building and influencing skills.
- Comfortable with data analytics and systems while maintaining a roll-up-the-sleeves mentality.
- Full NZ driver's licence with willingness to travel regularly throughout New Zealand.
