Best known for its annual conference and events, HiNZ is now entering a new phase of growth and renewal, with a focus on deepening member engagement and expanding its reach across the broader health and disability sectors.
About the Role
HiNZ is seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Executive to lead the organisation through its next chapter. This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for:
- Delivering high-quality events and services that reflect the needs of members.
- Strengthening member engagement and growing the membership base.
- Ensuring operational and financial sustainability.
- Enhancing HiNZ’s visibility and credibility across the health sector.

Skills & Experience
We are looking for a leader who brings:
- Strong commercial acumen, ideally with experience in not-for-profit, health, or membership-based organisations.
- A proven track record in leading change and organisational development.
- Experience in providing membership value and understanding of event delivery.
- A trusted and proven relationship builder across multiple sectors and stakeholder groups.
- Cultural awareness and a commitment to inclusive engagement, particularly with Māori and Pacific communities.
- A pragmatic, hands-on approach suited to a small team and resource-conscious environment.
- The ability to represent member views and influence sector conversations.
