The Opportunity

New Zealand Football is transitioning to a fully appointed board following unanimous stakeholder support at the 2025 Extraordinary Congress. With financial turnover quadrupling over the past seven years, nine international teams and rapid organisational growth, the organisation invites applications from directors who can assist to navigate commercial complexity and stakeholder sensitivity in a member-based sport.

New Zealand Football is seeking two independent directors to join a nine-member board as it looks to strengthen its governance and commercial sophistication – without losing its grassroots and member connection.

  • Genuine passion or connection to football
  • Technology, digital strategy or broadcasting sector experience
  • Board leadership experience
  • Bicultural competency and Te Ao Māori understanding
  • Contribution to 40% female representation target and broader diversity
