About the role
Synlait is seeking a passionate Health, Safety and Wellbeing Business Partner to help deliver on their commitment to “Synlait Safe” - their in-house programme that has already reached over 90% of the 1000+ strong staff and contributed to halving their injury severity rate in the past year.
Reporting to the Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing, you’ll play a key role in embedding a proactive safety culture, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring our people go home safe and well every day. This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on building positive relationships across the organisation through coaching, influencing, and partnering with leaders and teams.
Skills & Experience
We’re looking for someone with a positive attitude, who is focused on being a business enabler, and is open to listening and engaging with the Synlait workforce to build trust and drive meaningful change.
You’ll also bring:
- Proven experience in a health, safety and wellbeing role, ideally within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of NZ health and safety legislation and best practice.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to influence and drive change.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to unpick complex issues and work collaboratively to find practical solutions.
- Experience with safety systems, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
- Relevant qualifications in health and safety or a related field.
